Finally worked out outside in the backyard patio space yesterday for the first time in a few months since the weather was in the 50s. So that felt nice.
How do I become more efficient with my time, especially during lunch when I'm used to watching aimless sports shows. I think Monday was the last day that I'm fully invested in that since it's just a major time suck - and all for what. The other thing that I realized about shows are that producers put a value on debate that doesn't have a resolution. People will firmly believe their sides without budging & conceding points to the other side. Now that may have gotten more viewers in the past but that culture pervades in interactions at work, at home, on social media and literally everywhere else. TV show creators don't think that something that is resolved at a middle ground through debate can be entertaining. I haven't seen that as a reason that's talked about publicly why people don't even listen to the other side. I think it'd be cool to have a show where some people in the debate actually believe what side there's on, some are ambivalent, and others actually oppose the viewpoint that they're for. Cool modified idea from Thinking in Bets. This would help a lot in terms of empathy when people argue for another side. Years down the road though - I'll create something like this eventually.
