Yesterday, on the Adulting for Recent Grads virtual meetup, we ruminated on the following questions ⤵️
→ In what ways is the job market and how we got jobs different now vs pre-COVID vs pre-Internet?
→ How intentional are we with finding in-person vs hybrid vs remote positions?
→ Have we over romanticized in person work? Have we over-corrected and over romanticized remote work now?
→ How can you actively show, not just tell, future and current employers that you are skilled, experienced, and qualified for their jobs? Not just on a resume or cover letter
→ Potential controversial one: are career experiences within the last 3 years of Person A’s life more valuable and relevant than Person B’s Master’s/PhD from more than 20 years ago?
→ How can we truly build a life resume, using entrepreneurial skills, compared to being confined to limiting “professional experiences” to something we did in a W2 role?
If you wanna join in for one of these, I’m hosting these weekly at 8 pm ET on Mondays. Email me (sai@saivasam.com) for details.
